Key Leaders

Key Leaders are volunteer team members who extend the mission of NNYM by multiplying our presence in local communities.

They serve as trusted connectors and catalysts—building relationships with youth leaders, fostering collaboration between ministries, and helping develop healthy, sustainable local networks. By multiplying leadership at the local level, Key Leaders help ensure that no community is overlooked and every teenager has the opportunity to be reached.

I've served in youth ministry full-time since 1984, and my hope is to retire doing this work. After 12 years as a youth pastor in local churches, I was called in 1996 to serve as a missionary to Oregon public schools through Youth Alive. Around that same time, I became involved with youth ministry networking across the state. I love working with local networks, helping them grow their potential, and doing whatever I can to reach the hundreds of thousands of teenagers in Oregon.

I've served in full-time youth ministry in Houston since 1970, much of that time working with incarcerated and delinquent youth. Over the last 25+ years, my focus has shifted toward connecting local churches to reach more lost youth in their communities and schools. My background includes ministry work, military service, and nonprofit leadership. I deeply value city-wide partnerships and continue to pursue ways to reach youth who are often overlooked or forgotten.

I hold a degree in Religious Education from Mississippi College and have served in a variety of roles, including church staff, church planter, executive leadership with Youth for Christ, and pastoral leadership focused on ministry coaching. Since 2017, I've worked with churches, ministries, businesses, and leaders through speaking, consulting, and coaching. I am the Co-Founder of Access Youth Ministry, where we focus on helping organizations create environments in which kids and youth leaders with disabilities are fully included and empowered to contribute. I bring more than 36 years of experience in youth ministry leadership at both local and national levels. Through speaking and advocacy, I've shared my story and faith with audiences across the United States and internationally. I live with a rare form of muscular dystrophy and travel with my wife, Crissie, bringing a perspective shaped by resilience, authenticity, and a commitment to making youth ministry disability inclusive.
