Eddy & Mary McBroom

Southeast Coordinator

God is taking our call of student ministry and multiplying it in ways we could never imagine!

As the area coordinator for National Network of Youth Ministries, I will have the unique opportunity to coach, mentor, equip, pray for, partner with, and cultivate soul-care for youth pastors and youth workers. My responsibilities cover Southern Alabama, Florida Panhandle, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Mary and I have prayed about this decision and are excited to embark on this next journey. This is a huge step of faith for us and we are grateful for your partnership and prayers as we launch in this new ministry role with NNYM.

Healthy youth leaders lead to healthy student ministries and healthy student ministries help teenagers understand God's unique call upon their life in understanding who they are, how they fit in, and where they belong. Through the National Network of Youth Ministries, I have the high call to shepherd youth leaders in the southeast so they in turn can shepherd teenagers in the Christ-centric endeavor of understanding their purpose.

Building Lasting Relationships: 45 Years in Student Ministry

My journey in student ministry began during my college years when God placed a profound burden on my heart for students and their spiritual well-being. This passion grew until it was clear that my calling was to serve and minister to students and their families within the local church.

I am what you might call a "lifer." Over the years, I've had the privilege of serving as a student pastor, consultant, speaker, network leader, and mentor in Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. While youth ministry has evolved over the decades, two constants remain: the transformative power of the Gospel and the importance of building lasting relationships.

Early on, I realized that building meaningful relationships with students required a lifelong commitment. In my 45+ years in student ministry, 35 of those have been dedicated to serving at just two churches. My long tenure in the local church has shown me the incredible value of investing in relationships. I've learned that the longer the relationships with students and parents, the more solid the spiritual foundation we can help create in their lives.

As a youth pastor, I have been a member of the National Network of Youth Ministries (NNYM) since the 1980s. Networking with other leaders in the communities where I served has been vital to my ministry and longevity in church roles. My passion is to minister to youth leaders in the same way, helping them develop their vision and teaching their students to become fully devoted followers of Christ.

I am incredibly excited to join the NNYM team, serving in the Southeast Region. In this role, I am responsible for connecting with, encouraging, and supporting youth leaders in central/south Alabama, the Florida Panhandle, Mississippi, and Tennessee. We truly are "better together," and I look forward to the adventures that lie ahead as I build relationships with the leaders God brings into my path.

Together, Mary and I invite you to prayerfully consider joining our support team. We would be delighted to sit down with you and share more about how we see God leading us in this new phase of our journey. Please connect with me at emcbroom@nnym.org, and let's set up a time to get together

P.S. A little more on the family front! Mary and I also continue to support and strengthen the marriages of youth workers, serving as hosts for WinShape Marriages Foundation. Our three adult children are all active in their home churches in Alabama, Texas and Florida, and our grandchildren are a continued source of joy and fun in our lives
