LET'S BE HONEST
We are meant for relationships. We thrive in community with others. This holds true in our vocations as well. Being coached/mentored in ministry will be the best investment you can make.
1. What is one word you would use to describe your lead pastor?
2. Is your family more or less cohesive now than when summer began?
3. What do you put on a hot dog?
DISCUSSION TIME
If you had to assign a percentage between these two items, how do you feel you split your focus on coaching others or being coached?
Have you ever had a mentor give you encouragement that made you feel like a million bucks?
Have you ever had a mentor give you feedback or advice that really stung?
Is it hard for you to allow others to mentor you or are you very receptive to mentorship?
Have you experienced the difference between having a confidant within your organization vs. outside of your organization?
Being in a coaching role, do you ever feel the pressure to have all of the answers or do you feel freedom to be transparent?
Is there someone you are coaching that has you pumped up?
Is there someone you are coaching that is draining your energy?
Is there an area of life, ministry, or walk with God that you admire about someone in this room that you want to share with the group? Don't be shy!
PRAY FOR
For the life and ministry of the mentors in your life
For the families of the mentors in your life
For the walk with God of those you are coaching
For the opportunity to find new people to mentor
