I just got back from my annual trip to Grand Lake, Colorado. Every year, I make this journey, and let me tell you-it's more than just a vacation. The crisp mountain air, the majestic views, and the quiet moments of reflection are incredible. But the reason I've kept going back for 12 years is not the scenery; it's the people.
I go with my tribe.
There are 15 of us-women and men who have committed our lives to serving the next generation. When I'm with them, I feel truly understood, loved, and supported, even in my messiest moments.
We've walked through life together, facing everything from family struggles to career changes and disappointments. This sense of community is rare, and it's a gift I deeply cherish.
Why Every Youth Pastor Needs a Supportive Tribe
As a youth leader, you know the weight of the calling. Leading students in today's constantly shifting culture is a unique challenge. You're expected to navigate the complexities of youth culture, the expectations of parents, and your own personal life-all while being a spiritual leader.
