Youth workers in Salt Lake City are sharing their experience of community with the youth workers in St. George! After one of their group moved from SLC to St. George in southern Utah, Jeff Stevenson (Utah's state coordinator), four other youth workers, and I jumped into a van and headed on a four-hour-plus road trip to share our passion for youth workers coming together in their own community for relationships, resources and strategies.
Some time ago, Jeff and I began investigating what was happening in the southern part of the state, and realized there was potential for a stronger network in the city of St. George. The youth workers in Salt Lake have been building a strong cooperative fellowship for more than 12 years. Jeff and I agreed there was much they could share with other cities. It was exciting to cheer on one of their own, as well as be a part of expanding their desire for unity and cooperation beyond their own city borders.
