A Generation Asking Big Questions
Not long ago, in a room of 500 Christian high school students, two simple questions were asked:
"How many of you have heard a message about end-time prophecy?"
Not a single hand went up.
"How many of you have thought about the end of the world because of everything happening around us?"
Almost every hand went up.
That tension says everything.
Students today are thinking deeply about the future, but often without guidance, clarity, or a biblical framework to make sense of it.
A Moment Like This Has Happened Before
History shows us something powerful: when young people are gripped by God's truth about the future, movements are born.
In the 1870s, the Niagara Bible Conference gathered lay leaders hungry to understand what Scripture teaches about the end times. That movement sparked something bigger.
Soon after, D. L. Moody invited 250 young people to spend a month studying prophecy. Without being prompted, 100 of them committed themselves to "the evangelization of the world in our generation."
That moment launched what became the Student Volunteer Movement, over 20,500 young people stepping into global missions over the next 30 years.
Young people changed the world, because they understood God's plan.
Could something like that happen again?
We believe it can.
But first, we need to listen.
The Big Question
Why has teaching about the return of Christ become so rare?
And what do today's students, and leaders, actually understand?
Many youth leaders have received little to no training on this topic. As a result, students are often left navigating fear and uncertainty without a clear picture of God's ultimate plan.
This Is Where You Come In
We're conducting what may be the first nationwide study of its kind, gathering real insight from youth pastors and leaders like you.
This short, anonymous survey (about 5 minutes) is designed to help us better understand:
- What is currently being taught about Christ's return, if anything
- How much training leaders have received on the topic
- What youth leaders believe and how confident they feel teaching it
Whether you've been in ministry for one year or thirty, your voice matters.

This study is being led by youth ministry veteran Dann Spader and will inform both practical ministry strategies and broader conversations in the Church.
