There are 1.6 billion youth between the ages of 10-21 in the world and 42 million youth in the USA and the question is always being asked, "How do we reach the next generation?" Maybe the question of 'reaching the next generation' is the wrong goal to pursue.
NNYM brings together a group of youth leaders every year to advise the leadership of NNYM how we can best work together nationally. At our meetings every January, we visit our values that help us work to be "Better Together." These convictions are best pursued in life and ministry by a National Network of Youth Ministries, locally.
What are these values that unite us?
Personal Discipleship
We affirm that our souls matter to God. This is evidenced in our lives and we commit to prayer, Christ-like relationships and we are in a pursuit of knowing and living what the Bible teaches.
Equipping Students
Youth are on the frontlines of sharing the gospel in their schools and neighborhoods. Together we find ways to equip and empower those who love and serve young people.
Sharing the Gospel
Loving Jesus and sharing Jesus is how God works through us to transform teenagers. The relationship we have with God connects others to Jesus, and we choose to be ambassadors for Him.
Encouraging Unity
Our vision is that in every community across the nation, youth leaders and others connected to youth will build collaborative relationships to see every teenager reached and equipped for Christ.
You are a piece of the community. National Network of Youth Ministries is a connection point to link leaders like you for encouragement, spiritual growth, and sharing resources, in order to engage every teenager with the gospel, establish them in a local church, and equip them to reach their world.
Going Deeper
If you want to start coaching connect with a NNYM staff member. Each are trained to help coach networks work together locally to create healthy environments.
So our focus is 42 million youth in the USA but the real question is how many students are in your community? What are some creative ways that you can work together to serve these student's unique needs? Who are like-minded people that you could mobilize to reach and equip youth?
Reaching the generation isn't possible. Reaching your community - one at at time - is our calling. The beautiful reality is that you aren't the ONLY person with this calling. Time to get connected.
