The Mission Field

We live on a mission field. That is true everywhere. It is especially true in New England.

I often get to share about the joys and challenges of ministry in New England with kingdom workers from other regions of the country. I don't sugar-coat the realities of holding to faith in Jesus in our soundly post-Christian culture. Is it hard? Yes. Is there hope? Absolutely. Today, I had a great reminder of that hope.

This is Casey Holt, a senior at Brunswick High School in Maine. This morning as young people around the nation came together to pray at See You at the Pole, Casey stood alone. No hand to hold, he sat and prayed.

Why do we do what we do? Because every campus matters to God. Because every student matters to God. Because there are young men and women like Casey who are storming the gates of heaven in Timberlands and track t-shirts. They are in your church and your youth group.

Some see rocky soil. God sees fields white for the harvest.
