Toni and I recently returned from China, where a group of us were invited by church authorities to learn more about the church there and about the nature of youth work.
Needless to say, it was a fascinating and educational experience! Part of that was to interface with our Network counterparts in Asia who are responsible for networking youth workers. This is an interview with the leader of the Asian Youth Commission (their word for "network"), Joseph Lee from Seoul, Korea. He shares the progress of their efforts to set up networks all over Asia.
You will notice that the interview takes place on The Great Wall of China. Joseph was with the group, exploring how to work with the church in China, hoping to learn how we can relate to youth pastors and workers there. There are 560 million youth in China alone!
I was struck by the Olympic sign that stood nearby: "One World. One Dream." It is encouraging to know that God has raised up leaders all over the world, like Joseph, who are just as committed as we are to the dream of seeing EVERY young person everywhere have the opportunity to know and follow Christ. Please pray for them!
