Youth ministry is a joyous, but at times, a very hard calling. Regular struggles can occur with parents, students, leadership, finances . . . and the list goes on.
Who pastors the youth leaders through these dangers, toils and snares?
I connect with tons of youth workers as the NNYM District Coordinator for Texas and New Mexico. The National Network of Youth Ministries has a 20-plus year relationship with Youth Specialties. YS is a gigantic advocate and ally in the crazy calling of youth ministry. I bet you have experienced being equipped, encouraged or renewed in youth ministry if you have ever attended a National Youth Workers Convention.
I have been a friend of Youth Specialties for the majority of my youth ministry life. I have been fortunate to serve in a variety of roles at the National Youth Worker Convention. I have been a bookstore volunteer, led a workshop, worked different booths in the exhibit hall, took part in a late night panel, and was even a blogger for them last year . This year though, I get to check an item off of my bucket list because I will be one of the Convention Pastors at both of the 2010 National Youth Worker Conventions.
I get to listen to, care for, pray with, cry with, learn from and encourage youth workers. It is a great honor to have the opportunity to care for so many of God's favorite servants.
If you are going to be there, I would love to talk with you. Feel free to contact me before the convention, friend me on Facebook and you will have all of my information.
