No Longer The Same

James McCollum - October 6, 2009

See You at the Pole day will no longer be the same for me!

I have participated in nine See You at the Poles. This year's event ,and all that happen in the future, will have a special significance. You see my father passed away on Wednesday evening, September 23.

For the past three years, my church has sponsored a SYATP Rally on the Sunday evening prior to See You at the Pole. I feel that it is an opportunity to invite friends to our rally and to encourage the youth in my church and their friends to participate on Wednesday morning.

Then at our Wednesday evening Bible Study, which we call "Praise 24/7," I give them the opportunity to share with our group something special that might have happened to them at SYATP.

But this year I did not get that chance to allow them to share, but what did happen was an opportunity for them to minister to me. I was preparing to go into our Bible Study time when I was called out and told that my father had been taken by ambulance to the hospital. About thirty minutes later, we received a second call that he had passed away. There is no doubt that my father is walking the streets of glory, praising Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

SYATP will NO LONGER BE THE SAME for me! My prayer is that there are adults and teenagers around the world that can boast the same thing! But for a different reason, that it was on September 23, 2009 that they finally met the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ.
