That is the theme for the new movie, "To Save a Life. " It was filmed by Jim Britts, a youth pastor and network coordinator in Oceanside, California. His passion for seeing teenagers reached on campus led him to write and produce this movie coming to theaters in January. Many of the stories in the movie were modeled after issues the network experienced together.
Using materials from the upcoming movie, our local network wants to make a difference here in Oceanside. I joined with Jim a couple of weeks ago to put on a leadership retreat for four churches in our city. The goal was to teach students how to save the life of their friends using evangelism training developed for the movie. During our overnighter, we prayed at the flagpoles of five high school and junior high campuses, including the school where the movie was filmed. I was moved to hear students praying for their classmates to have the boldness to step out and make a difference in the lives of hurting teenagers.
