I have a confession: I am not the most athletic person in the world. In fact, my sports ability is very awkward to even watch. However, living in Texas, a connection to athletics is a major part of ministry.
Partnering with Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) gives me and other youth pastors an opportunity to invest in coaches, teachers, and students. FCA has a major influence in the lives of students. Fields of Faith, which is an official FCA event, has huge ripples in our community.
As we began the school year with large turnouts at See You at the Pole on every campus in our area, students began praying for their friends, teachers, and communities. In just a few short weeks, we will once again gather as a community for students and leaders to share the gospel. Many prayers will be answered and allow us to see what could be the beginnings of revival across our nation.
I want to encourage you to look for ways that you can help reach students and join what God is doing in your community. You can find a local Fields of Faith at www.fieldsoffaith.com. The official day is Wednesday, October 13, 2021, but local schedules may differ.
I am personally excited to be speaking at a Fields of Faith in Godley, Texas. When a FCA Huddle Coach called and asked, all I could say was, "Count me in - as long as you are okay with an awkward non-athlete!" Will you pray for all the Fields of Faith across the country; for God to use events like these for us to work together to equip and reach every student with the gospel of Jesus Christ?
