Building Up the Kingdom

Doug Franklin - November 23, 2010

I have just finished another youth ministry conference and again, a new thought has dawned on me. I think a lot about building the people on my team, but do I have a strategy to build others in the Kingdom who are not my team?

I have been serving at LeaderTreks for 17 years and I have learned a ton, but do I have an obligation to help others who are just starting out? The truth is no one helped me …. in fact people worked at times to make sure my organization didn't grow.

I want to be different and I will always help others. Don't get me wrong, I love to compete on ideas and service but I want youth workers to work with LeaderTreks because we are the right organization for them. Lots has changed in the past 17 years; YS has lost its influence and the internet has opened up all kinds of opportunities for whoever has a good idea. We don't all have to work together but we should all serve each other.
