For those of us who want to encourage our students to share their faith with their friends at school, this has been a challenging school year. With many schools meeting virtually and in hybrid models, it's very hard for students to reach their schools in the usual ways.
As a way to help students keep that outreach focus and to keep campus ministry going through this crazy time, we are encouraging students to participate in "21 DAYS: A 3 week prayer strategy for students in 2021". The idea is 3 students each praying 3 prayers for 3 friends for 3 weeks.
THREE FRIENDS
Whether students are going to school in person or virtually, it's not hard to meet with three friends from their school on zoom, facetime, at church, or at school. Meeting with students from their school helps them focus on a particular group of students (and this can help keep campus ministries alive).
PRAYING THREE PRAYER FOR THREE FRIENDS
When students meet to pray for their three friends who need Christ we encourage them to pray that God will 1) open their friend's heart, 2) open an opportunity to have a spiritual conversation, and 3) open their mouths to speak when the time comes!
FOR THREE WEEKS (21 days)
In the first week, we encourage students to just pray for their friends. The second week, we encourage them to pray and do something specific to show their friends that they care about them. The third week we encourage them to do something specific to share the gospel message with their friend (including inviting their friends to your student ministry). We have some great ideas for all of these posted at www.9monthmissiontrip.com/21.
If they start this at the beginning of the month, there's a one week break and then we encourage them to do it again the next month! With so many students hurting, lonely, angry, anxious, and depressed, the must offer the hope of Jesus to this generation as strategically and intentionally as we can.
